Boonshoft School of Medicine professor part of effort to encourage minority students to consider family medicine
DAYTON—The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) has adapted the American Medical Association’s outreach program, “Doctors Back to School,” to help increase the number of minority physicians. The program relies on physician mentors such as Gary L. LeRoy, M.D., associate dean for student affairs and admissions and associate professor of family medicine at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, to educate middle- and high-school minority students about family medicine and to encourage them to consider it as a career.
