The President of India honors local physician

Dr. Abdul Wase performing cardiac resyncronization

Abdul Wase, M.D., performing a cardiac resynchronization procedure at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.

Dayton, Ohio-Abdul Wase, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.C., will be honored this month with a Lifetime Achievement Award presented by His Excellency Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, president of the Government of India. The honor will take place during the annual World Congress on Clinical Preventive Cardiology in Rajasthan, India, on Saturday, September 23, 2006.

Wase is a clinical associate professor of medicine and the director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, and serves as director of Electrophysiology at Good Samaritan Hospital. He holds an M.B.B.S. from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in India and served his internship and residency in internal medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, where he completed a cardiology fellowship.

Dr. WaseWase also completed a clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at Sinai Samaritan Medical Center, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, where he joined as a Clinical Instructor in Medicine for a year. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology, and the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology examination of special competency in Cardiac Pacing and Cardiac Defibrillation. Wase is currently serving as a Board member, Ohio Chapter of The American College of Cardiology.

This year's World Congress on Clinical Preventive Cardiology (WCCPC) is organized by the Delhi Branch of the Cardiology Society of India, the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, Healthy Heart Education and Research Foundation, International Medical Sciences Academy in association with J.W. Global Hospital & Research Centre, Defense Research & Development Organization, Ministry of Defense, the Govt. of India, the Indian Academy of Echocardiography and the World Academy of Sciences.
