Wright State's Division of Health Systems Management, Department of Community Health, was launched in 1999 with a $2.5-million gift from Dayton philanthropist Oscar Boonshoft. Its mission includes consulting with corporate employers, health care organizations, and physician practice groups, conducting research in health services, population-based health care, preventive medicine, and developing educational programs in healthcare management for Wright State medical students, residents, and community physicians. The division also is involved in promoting a better understanding of health care public policy issues, especially universal health care for the population.
