Friday Night Luau On Tiki Beach

Hosted by Marjorie Bowman, M.D., M.P.A., dean of the WSU Boonshoft School of Medicine

You will be greeted at the luau by hula dancers. Enjoy music, food, and drinks throughout the evening while connecting with alumni, friends, and their families. Hula dancers will perform the traditional Tahitian Otea dance to the sound of Tahitian drums. Dressed in beautiful costumes, the performers will entertain you with high-energy dances from Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, and New Zealand. The show will end with an exciting and dangerous fire knife dance—sure to be a thrill for everyone!

Saturday Night Dinner in Naples

Jospeh and Merrylee Kandel invite you and your family to their home in Naples for a Saturday evening reception and dinner. Joseph is a 1985 graduate of the Boonshoft School of Medicine. Don't forget to bring the kids’ swimsuits! Transportation to and from the hotel will be provided.

Daily Breakfast Buffet at the Hotel

Enjoy a morning breakfast buffet at Tropiks made with only the freshest ingredients in this family-oriented restaurant located on the lower level. Breakfast vouchers will be provided upon arrival.

Shelling Excursion

Experience the relaxing and cool Gulf waters aboard the Calusa Spirit! This 49-passenger power catamaran departs directly from the sugar sand beach of the Marriott and will transport you to a whole new world—the Ten Thousand Islands! This ecosystem is comprised of thousands of mangrove estuaries, and is full of beautiful and unique wildlife. The Calusa Spirit calmly navigates the backwaters in search of dolphin, manatee, and bald eagles—and upon arrival at Cape Romano, explore the secluded beach in search of the most ornate seashell treasures! This exclusive excursion will be offered on Thursday and Friday at 2 p.m.

The Rookery at Marco—7,200 yards, Robert Cupp Design, Tifeagle Greens, home of the Rookery at Marco Golf Academy. Gracing its tranquil surroundings at more than 7,200 yards in length, the resort’s private course blends brilliantly with its native topography and intrigues players as it playfully twists through wetlands and estuaries.

Hammock Bay Golf Club—6,900 yards, Jacobsen Hardy Design, seadwarf Paspalum grass, greens and fairways. The course, designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy, is a par 72 Championship golf course. Hammock Bay Golf Club opened in 2004 and is nestled among the surrounding beauty of the Ten Thousand Islands.

A tennis tournament will be held February 6, 7–9 p.m., and February 7, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. This activity is being coordinated by Paul Koles, M.D., Chair of the Department of Pathology at the Boonshoft School of Medicine. We plan to have a combination of mixed doubles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles. Making friends and having fun is the goal, serious competition is optional! Players of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.

Tiki Tribe Discovery Day Camp—$70 per child

Ages 5–12
Hours: 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
Kids get the chance to become wildlife explorers in a small, nurturing day camp setting. 

Campers are led by Marriott-trained activity coordinators in activities where they receive individualized attention while participating in swimming, crafts, sports, nature lessons, video games, and back of the house tours!
