Children's Medical Center of Dayton
Fifty percent of the 155 beds in this modern pediatric center are devoted to surgery. Jeffrey C. Pence., M.D., is the associate program director at this site. Two Wright State University residents, and one resident from Grandview Hospital and one ourside rotator provide the only general pediatric surgery resident involvement at this institution.

Good Samaritan Hospital and Health Center
This institution has a 520-bed capacity of which 161 beds are devoted to surgical care. Laszlo Toth, M.D., is the associate program director at this site. Trauma and emergency surgeries, as well as biliary, gastro-intestinal and cardiothoracic surgery are important at this full-service adult acute care facility. Six to eight Wright State University surgical residents are assigned to this institution.

Kettering Medical Center
This 545-bed suburban hospital has 188 acute surgical beds. It provides a broad spectrum of general surgery and a dedicated Head and Neck Service. James R. Ouellette, D.O., is the associate program director, and Gary Anderson, D.O., is the assistant program director at this site. Seven to eight Wright State University surgical residents are assigned to this institution.

Miami Valley Hospital
This 865-bed facility provides extensive experience in trauma care. The regional trauma center and a regional burn unit for major adult thermal burns are located here. Linda Barney, M.D., and Jonathan M. Saxe, M.D., are the associate program directors at this hospital. Sixteen to eighteen Wright State University surgical residents are assigned to this site. The Department of Surgery's administrative offices are located at this institution, as well as the office of the chair, Mary McCarthy, M.D.

Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center
This federal facility has 120 acute care beds and, together with its other chronic and extended care components, ranks as the second largest V.A. medical center in the nation. Dana Frazer, M.D., is the associate program director at this site. A new acute care patient tower recently opened to provide a state-of-the-art physical plant for the care of veterans. Five to six Wright State University surgical residents are assigned to this hospital.

Wright-Patterson Medical Center
This 60-bed facility is a regional referral center for the Department of Defense Tricare Region V and is one of the premier medical training centers in the U.S. Air Force. It serves a large active duty and dependent population as well as the local community of military retirees. Five Wright State University surgical residents are assigned to this hospital per rotation.
