Over the past five years, the Boonshoft School of Medicine received a total of $110,402,178 in research and sponsored program funding. Major research awards went to the WSU & PHP Neuroscience Institute, the National Center for Medical Readiness, the Lifespan Health Research Center, the Center for Interventions, Treatment and Addictions Research, the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Department of Neuroscience, Cell Biology and Physiology and the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. More than 67 percent of the funding came in the form of federal grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA and the U.S. Department of Education.
