Wright State University’s neuroscientists and neurologists are continuously striving to promote the advancement of knowledge in the neurosciences through basic and clinical research. Codirected by Kenneth J. Gaines, M.D., M.B.A., Department of Neurology chair and director of special projects: clinical neuroscience development at Premier Health, and Timothy Cope, Ph.D., Brage Golding Distinguished Professor of Research and chair of the Department of Neuroscience, Cell Biology and Physiology, the Wright State University & Premier Health Neuroscience Institute is home to several key groups of neuroscientists, including a team funded by a Program Project Grant from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. The Neuroscience Institute fosters meaningful, ongoing collaborations among basic scientists from across the university and clinical faculty from the Department of Neurology working in close proximity to conduct research in the following areas:
