Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine
David S. McKenna, M.D., Program Director
The Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine
Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship program is designed to train physicians to
be the educators and leaders in the field of maternal-fetal medicine in the
21st century. The three-year program fulfills the objectives of the American
Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology "Guide to Learning in
Maternal-Fetal Medicine." Graduates
will be eligible for subspecialty certification in maternal-fetal medicine.
The three-year curriculum consists of 12 months of clinical rotations
and 20 months of protected research time. In addition, there are four months
of elective time permitting fellows to tailor their educational experience to
fit their interests. Unique opportunities exist to permit fellows to pursue
intensive training in ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, intrauterine fetal
therapy, and clinical research in ultrasound, neonatal neurosonography, and an
international health component. Fellows may obtain the advanced degree of Master of Public Health from the
Boonshoft School of Medicine.
The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship program began in 2007 and received
accreditation by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in April
2008. The first fellow commenced training in July 2008 and is scheduled to
graduate in 2011. The program is currently accepting applications for 2010
and will participate in the National
Resident Matching Program subspecialty match. Interested applicants
should submit their application to the Electronic Residency Application
Service (ERAS). The application deadline is May 31, 2009.
Interviews will be conducted in June, July and August. Please direct
