Dual-degree programs
Make a difference in your community
with a dual degree

Are you interested in the future of health systems, health economics and population-based health care? Do you possess good leadership, academic and analytic skills? If so, you may be a candidate for the Boonshoft Physician Leadership Development Program.

Would you like to become a physician who makes a difference for entire communities in addition to treating patients one at a time? If so, you could benefit immensely from the opportunity to complete a healthcare-centered M.B.A. or M.P.H. degree in addition to your M.D. degree.

Do you see your role as and educator, advocate and activist? Do you want the tools that will make it possible for you to lead in the healthcare system? If so, the M.D./M.P.H. Program or the M.D./M.B.A. Program at Wright State University may be for you.

Our unique, integrated leadership program featured in AAMC's magazine

The unique, integrated leadership program includes joint seminars involving both M.D./M.P.H. and M.D./M.B.A. students throughout their five years of study. It offers the only such curriculum in the country, and was featured in the January 2008 issue of Academic Medicine, the official publication of the Association of American Medical Colleges. (Read it online here.)

Some applicants may qualify for scholarships, which will significantly reduce the costs of obtaining the second degree. Such financial aid is above and beyond any merit- or need-based aid you would be entitled to in pursuit of your M.D. degree. Application to the program involves a separate process, which needs to be completed by July of 2009, so if you’re interested, let us hear from you right away. To be eligible for merit-based scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year, students must submit supplemental applications to one of the programs by March 1, 2009.
