Good Samaritan Hospital
Founded in 1932, Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) has a rich history of caring for the Dayton community. Today, the 520-bed hospital is a vibrant, multi-campus operation and includes the Dayton Heart & Vascular Hospital at Good Samaritan. Located just north of downtown Dayton, this full-service teaching facility provides advanced services in cardiovascular care, cancer care, orthopedics, neuroscience, diagnostics and women’s health. In 2011, GSH was named a Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence™ for the fourth consecutive year by HealthGrades, placing GSH among the top 5 percent of hospitals nationwide for clinical performance. One campus location includes Good Samaritan North Health Center in Englewood, one of the nation’s largest freestanding outpatient facilities. With more than 140 physicians practicing in a variety of medical specialties, Good Samaritan North offers a comprehensive range of services in one central location, including: diagnostic testing and imaging, outpatient laboratory, Samaritan Breast Center, Samaritan Cancer Center, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, physical and hand therapy, Sports Medicine Center, Samaritan Well-Being Center, Samaritan North Surgery Center and a retail pharmacy.
Designed as a one-stop healthcare destination, Good Samaritan Health Center-Huber Heights offers a variety of outpatient services and includes several physician practices. The center includes full-service imaging, a laboratory, physical therapy facilities emphasizing sports medicine, education classes, comprehensive women's healthcare services and ambulatory services.
Children's Medical Center of Dayton
The Children's Medical Center of Dayton is a 155-bed private, not-for-profit tertiary pediatric health care facility that offers a full range of inpatient services, 35 subspecialty and general outpatient clinics and public health programs encompassing health maintenance, early diagnosis and treatment. Included within the hospital are a 12-bed pediatric intensive and progressive care unit, a six-bed intermediate care unit, a 10-bed hematology/oncology unit and a 31-bed state-of-the-art Level III newborn intensive care unit. Dayton Children's is staffed by nearly 1,500 employees.
The only children's hospital serving the greater Dayton area, Dayton Children's receives referrals from 20 Ohio counties and eastern Indiana. Operating as an acute care facility since 1967, the medical center offers medical and surgical services as well as diagnostic evaluation in numerous areas. The medical staff consists of around 350 physicians. Additionally, more than 500 community volunteers devote their time to the facility.
